MunEDA exhibited at EDS-Fair 2007 in Yokohama

Munich, Germany - Wednesday, January 31st, 2007

EDS-Fair is one of the three largest trade shows in the world in the field of semiconductor and electronic system design, along with the US Design Automation Conference (DAC) and Design, Automation Test in Europe (DATE). Here all the latest technologies from around the world can found at one venue. EDS Fair 2007 will serve as a meeting place for both hardware and software technologies, including semiconductor devices, EDA tools, IP cores and design services. In addition to showcasing products and technologies befitting a time when new solutions are required, it will also be the venue for a number of Conference programs. EDS-Fair is associated with ASP-DAC Conference as technical conference presenting R&D publications and technical papers.

MunEDA´s booth was incorporated at Emerging Company Area. This is a new area designed especially for domestic and overseas emerging companies that offer industry solutions. So as to provide the latest information to design engineers, this area has a presentation stage as well as booth areas set aside for business discussions.

Matthias Sylvester, Technical Account Manager with MunEDA stated: "After first time exhibiting for Japanese market in 2006 we got numerous and interesting contacts to large Japanese semiconductor companies. This lead to the start of several evaluations of MunEDA DFM-DFY tools with some of the major Japanese semiconductor companies. We are currently cooperating with one large EDA distributor to present and serve Japanese customers that are interested in our solutions. There are nearly 15 Japanese semiconductor companies under the TOP50 worldwide and they have a strong focus on analog and mixed-signal circuits. Therefore the Japanese market is of significant interest for MunEDA. Nevertheless we know, that Japanese companies are very much interested in stable and long lasting solution based partnerships than in one time tool purchase without large benefits."

MunEDA´s Vice President Sales & Marketing, Andreas Ripp, gave a talk about Design for Manufacturability and Yield (DFM-DFY) to the fair audience as well as aggregated Japanese press at the EDS-Fair Special Presentation Stage at the first day of the fair. As result from the fair he stated: "Japans semiconductor market is expected to average 4% growth annually thanks to robust demand for consumer digital equipment such as flat panel display TVs and the widespread adoption of 3G mobile phones. Further growth is expected as the global market as a whole adopts the latest technologies that enable ubiquitous computing. At the EDS-Fair we discover a world of innovative new technologies rarely seen in day-to-day business. Actively promoting human resource training, this event provides young engineers with opportunities to gather the latest information. EDS-Fair is a business trade show engineered specifically to foster development of the industry."
