MunEDA releases new WiCkeD 6.4


Munich, Germany - Monday, February 07th, 2011

MunEDA most lately released the new version 6.4 of it's outstanding WiCkeDs oftware tool suite for interactive and automatic design analysis, modelling and optimization.

The highlights of WiCkeD 6.4 is a new SQP based algorithm of the DNO Deterministic Nominal Optimization for circuit performance and robustness optimization. It has a better convergence rate and uses less simulations.

Furthermore the target definition in all Nominal Optimizers (Global as well as all 3 algorithms of Deterministic Optimization) have been extended. Besides lower and upper bounds and scaling (trade-off between targets). There is now true minimization, maximization and equality targets. Further specification priorities can be set. The optimizer starts to improve the high priority targets and later adds lower priority targets.

In the Feasibility and Nominal Optimizers the snap to grid feature of the sizing result can now consider the constraints (sizing rules). After the snap to grid, they are fulfilled.

Further the calculation step (screening) of the Monte Carlo Parameter Influence Analysis and the Worst-Case Analysis + Yield Optimization have been improved. This results for large circuits with many mismatch parameters and a close to linear dependency of the performances with respect to just a few mismatch parameters and close to no dependency to all others to a significant reduction in simulation effort. For Monte Carlo Parameter Influence Analysis the reduction in simulation effort is 80% (<200 parameters) and 90% (>400 parameters).
