Management
Harald Neubauer
President & CEO
Before founding MunEDA, Harald worked as Regional Sales Director and Account Manager for the German network company, NK Networks & Services. Prior to this he has worked for Siemens Business Communication Systems in Santa Clara, USA as well as for Siemens Rolm, USA. Harald received his MS degree (Diplom-Ingenieur) in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Munich. Prior to that, Harald worked for several years for Siemens in Munich.
Michael Pronath
Vice President Products & Solutions
Michael Pronath has extensive experience in statistical analysis and modeling, and optimization. Prior to founding MunEDA, Michael worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Electronic Design Automation at the Technical University of Munich. He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Munich as well as a MBA of university of Hagen. Dr. Pronath is author and coauthor of several international publications about methods of analog integrated circuit design and testing of mixed-signal circuits.
Andreas Ripp
Vice President Sales & Marketing
Before founding MunEDA, Andreas worked as Account and Project Manager for the UK Consulting and Outsourcing Company Xansa, working on national and international projects in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, UK and Belgium. Prior to Xansa, Andreas was Consultant and Project Manager for the strategy consulting company Dr. Wieselhuber & Partner, working for German and international customers. Before his career as consultant, Andreas worked for several years as parliamentary advisor and election campaign manager for the Bavarian Minister of Finance.
Andreas started his business career as software developer for Siemens Corp. in Brussels and Munich. Andreas completed his studies at Technical University of Munich, at Technical State University of Moscow Bauman and at the University of California at Berkeley with a masters degree in Electrical Engineering. He also holds an MBA from the Technical University of Munich. Andreas is author and co-author of numerous international conference papers and received several best paper awards. He is also program committee member of several international conferences and research workshops.
Frank Schenkel
Vice President Research & Development
Frank Schenkel has extensive experience in optimization techniques, statistical analysis and yield modeling. Prior to founding MunEDA, Dr. Schenkel worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Electronic Design Automation at the Technical University of Munich. He studied Electrical Engineering at the University of Stuttgart and the Technical University of Munich and holds a Master degree in Electrical Engineering as well as a PhD from the Technical University of Munich. Dr. Schenkel is author and coauthor of several international publications about methods of analog integrated circuit design.
Advisory Board
Prof. Dr. Helmut Gräb
Helmut Gräb got his Dipl.-Ing., Dr.-Ing., and habilitation degrees from Technische Universitaet Muenchen in 1986, 1993 and 2008, respectively. He was with Siemens Corporation, Munich, from 1986 to 1987, where he was involved in the design of DRAMs. Since 1987, he has been with the Institute of Electronic Design Automation, TUM, where he has been the head of a research group since 1993. His research interests are in design automation for analog and mixed-signal circuits, for instance, sizing, design centering, layout, structural analysis. He is an IEEE Fellow and member of VDE (ITG, GMM).
Dr. Gräb has, for instance, served as Vice President Pubications of the IEEE Council on EDA, as Member of the Executive Committee of the ICCAD conference, as Member or Chair of the Analog Program Subcommittees of the ICCAD, DAC, and D.A.T.E conferences, as Associate Editor of the IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON CIRCUITS AND SYSTEMS PART II: ANALOG AND DIGITAL SIGNAL PROCESSING and IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON COMPUTER-AIDED DESIGN OF INTEGRATED CIRCUITS AND SYSTEMS, and as Member of the Technical Advisory Board of MunEDA GmbH Munich, which he co-founded.
He was the recipient of the 2008 prize of the Information Technology Society (ITG) of the Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (VDE), of the 2004 Best Teaching Award of the TUM EE Faculty Students Association, of the 3rd prize of the 1996 Munich Business Plan Contest. Two of the papers he co-authored received the ITG-Prize and the GMM-Prize, respectively, and six papers were nominated for best papers at DAC, ICCAD, DATE conferences.
Prof. Dr. Ulf Schlichtmann
Ulf Schlichtmann is professor at the Technische Universitaet Muenchen (TUM) and head of the Institute of Electronic Design Automation at TUM. Prior to his current appointment, he spent ten years at Siemens and Infineon Technologies. There, he held various technical and management positions in design automation, IP reuse and product development.
Most recently, he was Senior Director of Design Automation at Infineon Technologies, responsible for a department of more than one hundred engineers in Munich, Sophia Antipolis, San Jose and Singapore. Ulf holds a Dipl.-Ing. degree in communications engineering and a Ph.D. in design automation from TUM. He also obtained a Masters degree in technology business from University of Hagen. Ulf has received a number of awards for his research, e.g. the “ITG Best Paper Award”.
Prof. Dr. Kurt Antreich
Professor Kurt Antreich is emerited head of the Institute of Electronic Design Automation at the Technical University of Munich, Germany. An IEEE Fellow, his research led interests have been in computer-aided design tools for electronic circuits and systems, with particular emphasis on circuit optimization, layout synthesis, testing and synthesis of digital systems. Besides many national scientific commitments he has served as a member of the steering and program committee of various international conferences (e.g. IEEE ICCAD, IEEE ISCAS, EDAC, Euro-DAC) and as a member of the editorial board of several international technical journals.
His research led to more than 300 publications and resulted in many significant applications in industry. He received many national honors and was a best paper candidate of the ACM/IEEE Design Automation Conference in 1993 and 1995, respectively. He was awarded with the EDAA Lifetime Achievement Award 2003 as well as with the EDA medal 2003. Before his University career, Kurt joined Bosch Telecom, where he was involved in the development of circuits and systems. After that he became head of the department of advanced development in Backnang, Germany. Kurt received a MS degree in electrical engineering from the Technical University of Munich and a PhD degree from the Technical University of Karlsruhe, Germany.
